Abstract
The protozoan Plasmodiophora brassicae causes a disease known as clubroot, affecting crops such as cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli in Mexico. This pathogen, which arrived in America with the Spanish colonizers, causes swellings in the roots of plants, hindering their absorption of water and nutrients, leading to their weakening and death. To combat it, strategies such as crop rotation, increasing soil pH, and using predatory bacteria and fungi are employed. It is crucial to continue researching and training farmers to mitigate the damage caused by this protozoan.
